About Karin and Beth
In 1998 Beth Roberts met her husband, Warren, on the online dating site, Love@AOL. Slightly over one year later, Warren proposed. And on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2001, Beth and Warren were married on a sailboat in Santa Monica Bay, California.
Online dating grew in popularity, and Love@AOL was bought out by match.com. eHarmony, JDate, PerfectMatch and other online dating sites started popping up on the web. As more couples found success online, more and more online dating sites were formed, including many specialty sites like lawyersinlove, 1stserve, dateagolfer, and 420dating, to name a few. Search the web and you’ll find that there are literally thousands of online dating websites! But the internet is a relatively new tool for daters, and not everyone knows how to use it to its full potential.
When Beth’s friend Karin met her husband John online, Beth and Karin decided to write a how-to book to help others navigate the swirling waters of online dating. The success of their book, “Finding Your Mate Online: No Fear, No Embarrassment, Just Love!” led to Beth and Karin accepting speaking engagements on TV and radio, teaching seminars, offering private coaching lessons, and recording the Freeway Guide “Finding Love Online” CD.
As Executive Vice President of Cable Entertainment Business Affairs at NBC Universal, Beth oversees negotiations for all of the shows on USA, SciFi, Bravo and Oxygen, including "Law & Order: CI,” “Monk," “Battlestar Galactica," “Ghost Hunters,” "Project Runway," "Real Housewives of Orange County," and "Tori & Dean," to name a few. She speaks around the world on entertainment issues, and is consistently included in the Hollywood Reporter’s “Power 100” listing of influential female executives in Hollywood.
Karin has always followed her passions wherever they lead, embracing all the joys and mistakes! She moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and created the entertainment support businesses “Script Changes” and “Transcriptions Overnight.” Sailing, friends, her dog Gator and working in Hollywood were all dreams come true, but some nightmares resulted from the men she met. Online dating allowed her to figure out exactly what she wanted in a mate and find him! She met her husband John using the screen name TrueBlueFemme and they’ve been happily married since 2003.
Through all of Beth’s and Karin’s achievements, they derive the greatest satisfaction from sharing the lessons outlined in their book and CD. They found love online and want to help others do the same!
